Job Summary::

The Senior Azure Systems & Platform Engineer supports enterprise mission systems in a secure DoD environment. This role combines systems administration and platform engineering responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure operations, deployment, and sustainment. 

 

*This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Job Duties and Responsibilities: :

Core Responsibilities 

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure and hybrid enterprise environments, ensuring availability, performance, and operational stability 
  • Deploy, manage, and sustain Azure compute, storage, networking, and identity-integrated services in accordance with organizational and security requirements 
  • Perform system monitoring, patching, upgrades, backups, and recovery activities for Azure-hosted and hybrid systems 
  • Package, configure, and deploy applications and system components to standardized environments, ensuring consistency across development, test, and production tiers 
  • Support platform standardization and environment readiness, including baseline configurations, images, and deployment patterns 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, and application-level issues, coordinating with development, IA, and operations teams as required 
  • Implement and maintain configuration management and change control processes to support stable and auditable system operations 
  • Support incident response and problem management activities, including root-cause analysis and corrective action 
  • Collaborate with Information Assurance and cybersecurity personnel to remediate security findings, apply system hardening, and maintain compliance with security controls 
  • Support system onboarding, sustainment, and lifecycle activities, including environment transitions, upgrades, and decommissioning 
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures 
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and repeatability of platform operations 
  • Ensure systems and platforms remain compliant with DoD 8140 / DCWF qualification requirements and organizational policies 
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::

Required Qualifications 

  • Experience: 
  • Minimum 4 years of systems administration, platform engineering, or equivalent experience 
  • Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 
  • Azure Expertise (Required): 
  • Proven hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments 
  • Certifications (Required): 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher 
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT-II–compliant certification (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GSEC) 
  • Security Requirement: 
  • Must have Top Secret Clearance
