Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager with direct focus on packaging to support the growth of our hazmat (hazardous materials) packaging business. This role is focused on building strong customer relationships, expanding market presence, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter with a deep understanding (or willingness to learn) of regulated packaging environments and a passion for representing a high-quality, solutions-driven brand.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

• Identify, target, and acquire new customers across key industries requiring hazmat packaging solutions; leverages consistent and successful prospecting methodologies

• Grow and manage a designated territory, expanding market share and revenue; maintains gameplan for customer discovery and can quantify problem/solution to drive sales qualification.

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company goals and performance metrics; is able to manage complex selling opportunities using successful proven buyer understanding and consensus building.

• Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities and convert leads to long-term partnerships; possesses clear closing approach and is able to produce success plans/timelines for customer commitment.

Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate packaging solutions
• Provide ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

Hazmat Packaging Expertise
• Develop in-depth knowledge of hazmat packaging regulations, requirements, and best practices
• Educate customers on compliant packaging solutions and ensure alignment with transportation and safety standards
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions for complex or specialized applications

Brand Representation & Market Awareness
• Represent the DGeo brand with professionalism, expertise, and integrity
• Promote awareness of company capabilities, product offerings, and service differentiators
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to strengthen brand visibility

Performance & Reporting
• Meet or exceed established sales targets and KPIs tied to company growth objectives
• Track, report, and forecast sales activity using CRM tools
• Provide regular updates on market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback

  • Demonstrated success in building DG Packaging programs within chemical, pharma, industrial other industries commercial companies
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80% nationwide
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities
Preferred Experience
  • Experience selling into multi-location or national accounts
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven packaging requirements
  • Demonstrated success with managing multiple technical programs, influencing decision makers and keen ability to talk from shopfloor to C-Suite employees
Education
  • Preferred - Packaging engineering, Chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or accredited background within the Packaging space
  • Alternative - Bachelor’s degree - in Business, Marketing, or  equivalent experience in related fields with demonstrated success
