Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Sr. Manager or Director of Quality & Regulatory to lead and elevate our global quality, compliance, and regulatory functions. This role oversees the Quality Manager and partners closely with Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and external manufacturing partners.

This is a highly hands‑on role. While you will manage and mentor the Quality Manager, you will also be executing work directly alongside them - reviewing documentation, resolving issues, conducting audits, approving specs, and driving regulatory submissions. This is not a purely supervisory role; we need someone who is fully engaged in day‑to‑day tasks and willing to roll up their sleeves to move work forward.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the global Quality & Regulatory function, setting strategy, standards, and KPIs.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Quality Manager while actively participating in daily quality and regulatory tasks together.
  • Serve as the senior authority for quality escalations, compliance risks, and regulatory interpretations.
  • Build scalable systems and processes that support rapid growth and global expansion.
  • Represent Quality & Regulatory in cross‑functional discussions.

Hands‑On Quality & Regulatory Management

  • Personally oversee quality of all components, formulas, and finished goods.
  • Work side‑by‑side with the Quality Manager to review COAs, retains, spec documents, and quality reports.
  • Review and partner with internal and external counterparts on regulatory reviews to ensure compliance at all times
  • Manage all 3rd party inspections and review inspection findings.  Escalating any issues as needed to SVP of Ops and VP of Product.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and lead corrective actions for any quality issues.
  • Audit production processes and execute corrective action requests immediately after issues are detected.
  • Maintain and update all quality documentation, including spec documents and component records.
  • Support incoming component and finished‑goods approvals and rejections.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in Quality and Regulatory within beauty, cosmetics, or CPG
  • Deep knowledge of MoCRA, EU/UK cosmetic regulations, and global compliance frameworks
  • Experience managing and developing quality teams while remaining hands‑on and executing work alongside the Quality Manager
  • Strong background in GMP, ISO standards, and supplier quality programs
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and strong in documentation and systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
  • Must be open to international travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, and regulatory partners as needed
  • Passion for clean, innovative beauty and alignment with brand values
