About this Job:

General Summary of Position
Program administration for medical accommodations across MedStar Health ensuring compliance with ADAAA as well as consistency and reasonableness for business operational needs. Provides exemplary customer service guidance and assistance to associates leaders and HR.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for medical accommodations across MedStar Health. Reviews and analyzes accommodation requests in accordance with ADA/ADAAA.
  • Provides extensive case management for accommodations.
  • Leads the interactive process with associates and leaders. Reviews and interprets medical documentation to determine eligibility under ADAAA. Reviews associate restrictions against the essential job functions.
  • Collaborates with leaders Leave Management Occupational Health HR partners and Legal as needed.
  • Develops communicates and implements approved accommodation.
  • Tracks and documents all accommodation communications requests decisions and follow-up actions.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential associate accommodation files ensuring that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Maintains timely and appropriate communication with associates and leaders throughout the process.
  • Develops and delivers ongoing education and training to HR and leaders regarding ADA/ADAAA compliance topics.
  • Develops generates and presents reports on a regular basis to analyze accommodation data and provide insights trends and recommended actions.
  • Stays informed and trained on changes to ADA/ADAAA and provides policy and process recommendations as a result of ADA/ADAAA changes to mitigate organizational risk.
  • Reviews policy and procedures as needed for updates.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources Public Administration Social Services or a related field. required
  • Master's degree Human Resources Public Administration Social Services or a related field. preferred

Experience

  • 3-4 years Human Resources or HR related position. required and
  • 1-2 years 2 years in Accommodation processes employee relations and/or leave of absence or paralegal experience is strongly preferred though other applicable backgrounds will be considered.

Licenses and Certifications

  • ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ADAC/ACTCP) Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or ability to obtain a preferred certification within 2 years of hire date. within 2 years required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality neutrality and professional integrity
  • Working knowledge of ADAAA FMLA and other relevant employment laws.
  • Exceptional interpersonal customer service and written and verbal communication skills at all leaves.
  • Strong critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills prioritization and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook.
This position has a hiring range of : USD $71,843.00 - USD $135,907.00 /Yr.
