Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will understand and have experience applying the full systems engineering lifecycle, and must be able to analyze and decompose requirements, create system design documentation, generate, utilize and maintain Cameo models. This position will interface with internal and external project team members, company leadership, and customers. * This is a full-time position with a 9/80 schedule. This position can be remote or at our Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR facility. Impact of the Role:

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • May have sole responsibility for projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
    • Required Qualifications:
      • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
      • Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
      • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Analytical thinking skills. Problem-solving skills.

      Additional Responsibilities:

      • Analyzing customer/stakeholder requirements, decomposing requirements, deriving requirements, and allocating requirements to system and subsystem elements in DOORs
      • Developing and maintaining risk and opportunity databases.
      • Supporting trade studies and performing design research of engineering concepts and explorations to determine optimal requirements and system architecture
      • Developing system/subsystem design documentation such as interface definitions, system schematics, and system description documents
      • Developing and executing system verification
      • Developing MBSE processes, procedures, templates, and best practices
      • Developing, reviewing, and presenting Cameo models to internal and external stakeholders
      • Leading or supporting system engineering technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
      • Assisting in preparation of proposals and presentation materials
      • Performing peer reviews of fellow team members’ work
      • Developing and reviewing test plans and reports
      • Supporting the planning and execution of various kinds of testing including subsystem and system testing
      Physical Requirements:
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel likely. Pay Range (USD): $100,300-$135,700 Pay Transparency Statement: The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
