Our client is a well-established electrical contracting company in the Bay Area with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work on complex, large-scale projects. This is a great opportunity to join a smaller, growing organization where your voice will matter. The person in this role will have the ability to help shape and improve the company's electrical estimating function, including providing input on estimating processes, tools, and software.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to support electrical construction projects throughout the Bay Area, with a focus on affordable housing and multifamily developments.

This is a full-time role that is approximately 60% electrical estimating and 40% project management. The position will include local travel to client sites and jobsites throughout the Bay Area. After the initial training period, there will be flexibility to work from home. Candidates may choose to have their primary desk located in either the company's San Jose or Oakland office.

The ideal candidate will have strong electrical estimating experience, project management capabilities, and the ability to work closely with internal teams, field personnel, clients, general contractors, and other project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for affordable housing, multifamily, and related construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and vendor/subcontractor coordination
  • Develop accurate budgets, proposals, and change order pricing
  • Support project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution
  • Manage project documentation, budgets, timelines, and client communication
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements
  • Attend jobsite walks, client meetings, and project coordination meetings throughout the Bay Area
  • Track project progress and help identify risks, cost impacts, and schedule concerns
  • Provide input on estimating software, tools, systems, and process improvements
  • Help strengthen and grow the company's electrical estimating capabilities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience
  • 5+ years of experience working on affordable housing, multifamily, or similar construction projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical contracting, electrical systems, construction documents, and project execution
  • Experience with budgeting, cost estimating, change orders, and financial tracking
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in both office and jobsite environments
  • Proficiency with estimating and project management software
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
