Position Overview

The Director, Client Coding Integration serves as a strategic and operational leader responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of client coding integration functions across physician revenue cycle operations. This role ensures the successful onboarding of new clients, alignment of coding workflows, and ongoing performance improvement through strong stakeholder partnership, data-driven insights, and operational excellence.

This position plays a critical role in connecting coding operations, client delivery, and clinical stakeholders—ensuring seamless communication, high-quality coding performance, and an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Client Integration & Implementation

  • Lead client onboarding and coding integration efforts, ensuring smooth transition, stabilization, and long-term success
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows, policies, and best practices for coding integration across clients
  • Partner with Client Delivery and Operations teams to align integration strategies with overall revenue cycle objectives

Coding Operations Oversight

  • Provide leadership oversight of outpatient coding and abstracting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Monitor and improve coding KPIs including productivity, quality, and turnaround time
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and coding guidelines through collaboration with Quality, Education, and Compliance teams

Performance & Analytics

  • Analyze coding performance metrics, audit results, and denial trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop insights and reporting for leadership to support data-driven decision-making and operational optimization
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving coding accuracy, throughput, and overall revenue cycle performance

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key liaison between coding teams, providers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and issue resolution
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement
  • Support provider education and communication to improve documentation and coding outcomes

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop coding integration leaders and teams to drive performance and engagement
  • Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and support career development
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare coding, revenue cycle, or related operations
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing coding teams or integration functions
  • Deep understanding of physician/outpatient coding, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Experience leading client integrations, onboarding, or large-scale operational initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred

  • AHIMA or AAPC certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC)
  • Experience working across multiple clients, regions, or large-scale coding operations
  • Background in data analytics, reporting, or performance improvement initiatives

Work Environment & Travel

  • Hybrid role with on-site presence in Ohio required based on client and operational needs
  • Travel may be required for client onboarding, relationship management, and operational support
