Job description

Senior Marketing Executive

Join us and be part of a mission-driven, independent publisher. You’ll work with a diverse group of people who share a passion for empowering researchers, educators, and institutions to shape the future.

About Sage:

Sage is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.

Our guaranteed independence means we’re free to:

  • Do more – supporting an equitable academic future, furthering disciplines that drive social change, and helping social and behavioural science make an impact

  • Work together – building lasting relationships, championing diverse perspectives, and co-creating resources to transform teaching and learning

  • Think long-term – experimenting, taking risks, and investing in new ideas

About our Team:

Our Marketing team is collaborative and results‑focused, with a strong emphasis on data‑driven decision‑making. We partner closely with Product, Sales, Circulation, and Editorial teams to renew institutional subscriptions, generate new leads, and strengthen brand recognition across global library markets. Together, we compose coordinated campaigns, build compelling content, and support colleagues across the business to deliver meaningful impact for Sage Journals and our customers.

Could you be our new Senior Marketing Executive? Are you?

  • A proactive self‑starter with marketing experience, ideally in a B2B environment, and motivated by delivering strong results.

  • Confident implementing marketing plans and thriving in a fast‑paced, collaborative team.

  • Experienced in coordinating events such as conferences, with the ability to coordinate logistics and support.

  • Skilled at coordinating multiple projects and keeping timelines, collaborators, and results on track.

  • A strong campaign planner who can build, implement, and measure marketing activity to achieve clear outcomes.

  • An excellent writer and communicator with experience producing digital content.

  • Collaborative and relationship‑focused, with experience partnering across teams to provide marketing initiatives that support sales.

  • Curious and innovative, bringing fresh ideas and a willingness to test, learn, and share with the wider team.

Your new role:

You’ll play a key role in delivering marketing activity that drives renewals, sales, and customer engagement. You’ll plan and deliver campaigns, develop high‑quality collateral, and ensure Sales and Circulation teams have the insights and tools they need to succeed. You’ll be hands‑on, creative, and proactive, helping us deliver measurable results across key markets.

  • Deliver marketing campaigns that strengthen renewals, support new sales, and drive measurable engagement.

  • Develop and maintain core marketing assets including annual collateral updates, campaign materials, and customer‑facing content.

  • Build clear, accessible FAQs and product information for Sales and Content teams, ensuring consistent and timely communication.

  • Incorporate messaging regarding product news and initiatives into campaigns and promotions.

  • Produce tailored sales‑enablement collateral for high‑value opportunities in partnership with Sales.

  • Lead field marketing activity for the EMEA Special Libraries Sales team, crafting segmented campaigns and custom materials.

  • Coordinate conference and event activity to ensure strong presence and smooth delivery.

  • Share marketing insights at team meetings, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
