Job description

Description

ProCrewz® is the essential event labor management platform and mobile application, blending convenience, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology for event professionals. In coordination with its parent company, Finley Road Partners, ProCrewz® provides efficient collaboration and streamlined communication for event managers and their remote teams throughout North America. The mobile app and client portal makes coordination and management much simpler in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Seamless, connected, and dependable, ProCrewz® is the digital evolution of event labor management.

The Applied AI Engineer is a hands-on engineering role responsible for translating the day-to-day workflows of live events and sports broadcast operations into AI-powered software. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the incumbent will partner closely with internal product teams and departments to identify high-leverage automation opportunities and ship AI features and integrations that move metrics for the business. This is a fully remote role with some required travel based on business need.

General Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and customer-facing teams to deeply understand operational workflows across sports broadcast, live events, and live music
  • Identify, scope, and ship AI-powered features and automations that solve specific operational pain points
  • Design and deploy production LLM systems with rigorous evals, guardrails, and observability — payroll and labor compliance are domains where silent failures are not acceptable
  • Build custom integrations between the ProCrewz platform and adjacent systems in the live events tech stack
  • Own AI feature delivery end-to-end: discovery, prototyping, build, deployment, and post-launch support
  • Contribute customer and operational learnings back into the core platform roadmap
  • Own the technical roadmap for prompt design, RAG architectures, and agent frameworks, while empowering the wider engineering organization to adopt these best practices
  • Contribute to the AI-first SDLC currently used across the organization, where the majority of platform code is AI-assisted via Codex, Cursor, and Claude Code

Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems that real users depend on
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience building production LLM applications — prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, tool use, structured outputs, and evals. Candidate must have shipped at least one production AI feature, not just prototypes or demos
  • Strong full-stack fundamentals across modern backend services, API design, data pipelines, and frontend (React/TypeScript or comparable)
  • Strong written communication and the ability to translate technical tradeoffs into business language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Bias toward shipping — comfortable moving from problem to working prototype in days rather than weeks, with iteration in front of internal users and customers
  • Comfort working in an AI-first SDLC, with fluency (or rapid ramp) in Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and similar AI-assisted engineering tooling
  • Salesforce platform experience (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow), preferred
  • Background in workforce management, payroll, scheduling, HCM, or freelance/gig economy platforms, preferred
  • Domain familiarity with sports broadcast, live events, film/TV production, touring, live music, or staging operations, preferred
  • Working knowledge of multi-state payroll, 1099 vs. W-2 classification, union rules, or other live events labor compliance regimes, preferred
  • Experience with vector databases, agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, custom), or production LLM observability and eval tooling, preferred
