Role Overview

We are seeking a mid-level Frontend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable developer portals and internal tools. In this role, you will focus on engineering intuitive web applications that allow third-party developers to seamlessly integrate with our core platform APIs and distributed services. You will own features from architectural conception to production delivery, ensuring high web performance, robust security, and exceptional developer UX.

Position: Software Engineer (Frontend Focus)

Level: Mid-Level (IC2 / SE II)

Location: Remote (Latin America – requiring 6 hours time zone overlap with PT)

Key Responsibilities

  • Frontend Architecture & Development: Engineering resilient, accessible, and scalable single-page applications (SPAs) and dashboards using TypeScript and React.
  • API Integration & Contract Alignment: Partnering with backend engineering teams to design and consume RESTful APIs and microservices (engineered in Go and Python), ensuring optimal data serialization and state management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translating complex technical requirements and UI/UX wireframes into modular, reusable component architectures in coordination with Product and Design teams.
  • Code Quality & Governance: Maintaining high engineering standards through rigorous code reviews, comprehensive technical documentation, and adherence to modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Testing & Observability: Implementing automated testing strategies (unit, integration, and E2E) and integrating frontend observability tools to monitor application health and user telemetry.

Technical Qualifications

Required Core Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent production experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience specializing in modern frontend engineering.
  • Languages & Frameworks: Deep proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+) and React (including hooks, context, and advanced state management patterns).
  • Web Fundamentals: Strong mastery of HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Web Accessibility (WCAG/a11y), Responsive Design, Browser APIs, and web performance optimization.
  • API & Networking: Proven experience integrating frontend clients with RESTful services, handling asynchronous workflows, error states, and data mutation.
  • Testing Suites: Experience writing deterministic automated tests (unit and integration) using frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Execution: Demonstrated ability to independently scope, architect, and deliver features from implementation through delivery with minimal guidance.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

  • Developer Tooling Experience: Prior experience building developer-facing products, API management dashboards, or cloud service consoles.
  • Backend Exposure: Basic understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and backend languages (specifically Go or Python).
  • Design Systems: Experience contributing to or maintaining UI component libraries using tools like Storybook.
  • Telemetry & Monitoring: Experience setting up frontend logging, error tracking, and performance monitoring (e.g., Sentry, Datadog, New Relic).

Cultural & Operational Expectations

  • High Autonomy: A strong sense of ownership over the lifecycle of your code, from local development to production deployment.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguous technical hurdles and propose scalable architectural solutions.
