Description

About the American Immigration Council

The American Immigration Council (the Council) works to strengthen America by shaping how America thinks about and acts towards immigrants and immigration, and by working toward a more fair and just immigration system that opens its doors to those in need of protection and unleashes the energy and skills that immigrants bring.

The Council brings together individuals adept at solving problems and employs four coordinated approaches to advance change—litigation, research, legislative and administrative advocacy, and communications.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a creative, data-savvy Social Media Content Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team. In this role, you will develop and publish social-first multimedia content that drives reach, engagement, and audience growth—turning complex immigration policy, litigation, and research into content that informs, moves, and activates audiences across our channels.

You will own content across both B2C platforms (Instagram, Bluesky, YouTube, Facebook) and B2B channels (LinkedIn), shaping what we say, how we say it, and why it matters. This is a high-impact role for a storyteller who combines creative instincts with analytical rigor and a genuine passion for mission-driven work.

What You'll Do

Content Creation (50%)

  • Produce platform-native content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and YouTube
  • Transform immigration policy and research into clear, shareable social content
  • Write platform-tailored captions, scripts, and copy
  • Develop creative content series and campaigns
  • Build toolkits for peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns

Channel Management (30%

  • Own day-to-day channel operations: publishing, scheduling, optimization
  • Partner with colleagues to source stories and deliver timely content
  • Balance planned editorial with real-time reactive coverage

Performance & Innovation (20%)

  • Track and report on content performance across platforms
  • Translate data into actionable content improvements
  • Spot emerging trends and platform shifts
  • Test new formats and storytelling approaches
  • Support influencer partnerships

  • Deep knowledge of Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Experience with content calendars, publishing workflows, and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social)
  • Ability to read platform analytics and translate insights into recommendations
  • Working knowledge of accessibility best practices (alt text, captions, color contrast)
