Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Summary

Performs functional, regression, and exploratory testing across Avum's government applications. Develops and executes test cases, tracks and documents defects, and collaborates with development teams to ensure quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

•  Develop and execute test cases for functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing

•  Log and track defects in JIRA with detailed reproduction steps and evidence

•  Validate sprint user stories against acceptance criteria

•  Collaborate with developers and SMEs on defect resolution and requirements clarification

•  Maintain test evidence, test cases, and audit-ready documentation

•  Support release testing and sign-off processes

•  Participate in Scrum ceremonies and provide QA perspective on sprint planning

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $112,000 annually, with a target midpoint of $92,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and geographic location. •  Must comply with all ITAR/EAR export control regulations

Required Qualifications

•  Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field

•  2+ years of software QA/testing experience

•  Experience with JIRA and test management tools

•  Active Secret clearance

•  U.S. citizenship required

•  Knowledge of SDLC and Agile testing practices

Preferred Qualifications

•  ISTQB Foundation certification

•  Test automation experience (Playwright, Selenium)

•  SQL query skills

•  Experience with government procurement systems
