Job description

We’re Changing the Rentals Industry

We’re a profitable, growth-stage company building industry-leading martech and data products for the rentals industry. While originally known for building and operating one of the U.S.’s largest rental marketplaces - Rentable, our focus has shifted to our category-leading AI and data SaaS products with triple-digit growth rates.

We’re a fully remote team of 100+ spread across the U.S. from coast to coast. We operate on a strict no a**holes policy and are proud to have built a community of highly performing people that take our work seriously, but not ourselves.

While we’ve raised $30MM+ to date from some of the world’s best investors, we’re profitable with a strong balance sheet and an indefinite runway. We pride ourselves on achieving rapid growth without having to incinerate capital.

If you like the idea of joining an industry-changing company made up of people who genuinely like each other, Rentable could be a great fit for you.

The Role

As an FP&A Analyst, you’ll play a key role in helping Rentable understand how the business is performing and where we should focus next. You’ll work closely with the CFO and teams across the company to turn data into clear, actionable insights that support everyday decisions and long-term strategy. A big part of your role will be querying, cleaning, and transforming data using SQL to answer real business questions and help move the company forward.

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will need to be a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills, follow-up abilities, and effective verbal and written communication. Your ability to synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to assess areas of improvement, support recommendations for action, and define and implement routine reports will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Create and maintain models to predict performance and assess business decisions.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts, explaining key drivers.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for strategic initiatives and executive requests.
  • Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all financial and operational reporting.
  • Partner with the CFO and leadership to support data-driven decision-making
  • Partner with business units (Sales, Marketing, Ops) to provide financial insights for strategic planning and operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards and recurring reports.
  • Identify and improve data quality, instrumentation, and reporting processes.
  • Turn incomplete data into usable insights.
  • Support the preparation of leadership-level reporting, including board presentations and ad hoc projects

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years FP&A experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • 2+ years of hands-on SQL experience.
  • 2+ years experience with a data visualization tool (preferably DOMO).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a quantitative field.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Excellent analytics and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear, executive-ready insights.
  • Strong advocate for data-driven decision-making.
  • Self-motivated and autonomous in managing financial projects from start to finish.
  • Naturally curious, highly motivated to analyze, experiment, and learn.
  • High attention to detail and diligence in verifying work accuracy.

Why Rentable:

  • Remote-First: We offer the freedom to work from home across most of the U.S. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of remote work, balanced with high-energy in-person offsites to build real connections and celebrate our wins together.
  • Competitive Compensation: We believe in hiring the best and paying accordingly. You’ll receive a competitive salary that reflects your impact and expertise.
  • Paid Time Off: Take the time you need with our flexible vacation policy and dedicated paid parental leave to support you and your family’s biggest milestones.
  • Total Wellness Coverage: We’ve got you covered from head to toe with comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
  • Peace of Mind (On Us): We fully invest in your security with 100% company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Basic Life Insurance.
  • Protection for Your Whole Crew: Access supplemental insurance for the unexpected, plus specialized coverage to keep your pets happy and healthy, too.
  • Invest in Your Future: Secure your financial goals with our 401k Program, helping you build for the long term while you help us build the company.
