Job description

Position : Senior Parabroker / Team Lead
Salary : Up to $3,000 AUD per month

About the Client

Our client is an established boutique mortgage brokerage operating in Australia since 2007. The business specialises exclusively in residential home loans for families and first home buyers who are buying, building, or renovating homes and investment properties. They have built a strong reputation through lender relationships, efficient processes, and consistently high-quality client experiences.

As the business continues to grow, our client is investing in expanding team capacity and leadership to support the team, clients, and long-term business direction.

About the Role

We’re seeking a senior-level professional who can lead the offshore team (currently three members), confidently write complex loans, and improve workflow processes.

This is a senior role, ideal for someone with extensive credit experience, ideally gained across at least two mortgage firms, with some people leadership experience.

Working closely with the onshore team, you will have meaningful input into how the loan pipeline operates day to day, along with genuine authority to improve the way work gets done.

You will be supported through ongoing collaboration and access to specialist technical workflow consultants to help deliver and implement exceptional workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loan writing / parabrokering for residential home loans (approximately 40%–70% of the role depending on current volumes)
  • Day-to-day management of a team of three offshore members, including one experienced credit analyst and two loan processors, through regular coaching and mentoring
  • Daily pipeline management in collaboration with the onshore team to ensure files continue moving efficiently
  • Anticipating lender policy issues and proactively resolving problems early
  • Building and improving workflows to enhance turnaround times, accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Developing a complete understanding of current team operations, documenting processes, identifying friction points or repetitive low-value tasks, and implementing solutions
  • Recommending and implementing improvements across software, AI tools, automation, training, and workflow systems
  • Guiding and collaborating with technical workflow consultants to implement process improvements
  • Leading a positive offshore work culture that is results-driven, connected despite distance, fulfilling, and enjoyable
  • Working with the onshore team to develop and track reporting measures and performance metrics

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Strong hands-on parabrokering experience with operational and leadership capability
  • At least 6 years’ experience in Australian residential mortgages, most recently in a parabrokering role
  • Strong credit knowledge across multiple lenders and lending policies
  • Confidence handling complex lending scenarios, including company/trust structures, investment lending, self-employed lending, and high LVR loans
  • Strong exposure to lenders such as CBA, St George, Macquarie, and Bankwest
  • Confidence communicating daily with BDMs and assessors
  • Experience working across at least two Australian mortgage firms (preferred)
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching team members and a genuine enjoyment in helping others succeed
  • A systems- and process-driven mindset
  • Comfort using and improving mortgage technology and systems, ideally including ApplyOnline, Mercury, Quickly, and Asana
  • A calm, proactive, and solutions-focused approach

Benefits

This is an opportunity to step into a senior role where you can genuinely influence operations, improve systems, lead a team, and contribute to the continued growth of a respected Australian mortgage brokerage.
