Summary:

This role partners with health-systems and internal Vizient business units to optimize pharmacy enterprise solutions and strengthen the value delivered to clients. The position leads pharmacy consulting engagements across multiple client accounts, builds relationships with hospital executives, pharmacy leaders, clinicians, and internal stakeholders.  Responsibilities include developing new consulting offerings, conducting pharmacy program assessments, providing subject matter expertise, creating actionable recommendations, and guiding clients through implementation of initiatives that deliver measurable results.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate consulting team activities across multiple client accounts.

  • Lead project teams to achieve deliverables within planned timelines and budgets.

  • Create and deliver influential communications with clarity and confidence to health-system senior executives.

  • Conduct practical assessments of pharmacy and medication management programs in member health systems, infusion centers, ambulatory surgery centers and associated provider offices and clinics.

  • Utilize industry leading practices, pharmaceutical care standards and benchmark comparisons to develop strategic operating plans that will position the pharmacy program for optimal value, efficiency, and service excellence.

  • Engage in formulary management and therapeutic interchange initiatives to maximize market share, standardize products, improve pricing, streamline IV-to-oral conversions, and collaborate with clinical leaders on cost-effective medication use.

  • Deliver consultative and advisory services to support client needs.

  • Support consulting practice initiatives through development and enhancement of pharmacy solutions and services.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support project execution and client engagement.

  • Present pharmacy insights and recommendations at national and regional forums.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (e.g. PharmD, BSPharm) required; master’s degree in business or health administration preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Relevant experience in health-system pharmacy practice.

  • Experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities is preferred.

  • Ability to assess pharmacy programs and develop strategic recommendations for client organizations.

  • Experience conducting operational, financial, and clinical assessments within healthcare environments preferred.

  • Experience leading pharmacy operations, medication management, or healthcare consulting initiatives preferred.

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and executive-level communication skills.

  • Experience delivering consultative or advisory services in healthcare settings preferred.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions.

  • Strong relationship-building and client engagement capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt within fast-paced consulting environments.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
