Job description

About Future Works

Future Works is a US-focused, AI-native professional services firm building operational AI and data systems. Our foundation beliefs are simple: optimization lowers need for resources, which increases sustainability and resilience. We are a team of "Time Benders" on a mission to collapse timelines to operational transformation of high footprint companies in energy, real estate, data and beyond. Together, we master velocity.

We achieve our mission by building flawless, AI-powered systems. Our technology is already far more advanced than that of boutique services firms, but we are only getting started and the road from here leads to becoming world's best Service-as-Software company. Regardless of the specific role, our ideal candidate will always have a keen interest in building symbiotic human-AI systems both individually and for teams; high energy, high agency and a certain passion for bending time.

The Role

As the Senior Business Architect, you will lead operations strategy and business transformation for a major enterprise client in healthcare and consumer goods. You will own the end-to-end business discovery: facilitating executive workshops, decomposing complex value chains, identifying root causes of operational inefficiency, and translating findings into structured requirements that drive technical architecture and AI-powered solutions. You will work across multiple parallel work streams alongside Solutions Architects, Data Engineers, and Program Managers, and you will be expected to run your lanes independently with full ownership of client relationships, deliverables, and outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of management consulting and AI-enabled transformation. You are not building the technology, but you are shaping what it needs to do and why, bridging the gap between operational reality and the systems that will transform it.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Strategy & Value Chain Analysis: Lead the decomposition of complex, cross-functional business processes (supply chain, logistics, procurement, distribution) to expose structural inefficiencies, wrong-node allocation, mode-mix issues, and escalation drivers.

Client Discovery & Stakeholder Engagement: Independently facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with senior client stakeholders. Build trusted advisor relationships and drive difficult conversations with confidence.

Requirements Translation: Convert business findings into clear, actionable requirements for Solutions Architects and Data Engineers, ensuring operational constraints and business logic are accurately reflected in technical blueprints.

Work Stream Leadership: Own and independently drive one or more delivery lanes end-to-end: planning, client communication, deliverable production, risk escalation, and progress reporting, without requiring day-to-day direction.

As-Is / To-Be Architecture: Collaborate with Solutions Architects to define current-state and target-state process and system architectures, applying structured analytical frameworks (Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving) to validate transformation opportunities.

Deliverable Ownership: Produce enterprise-grade analytical deliverables (process maps, value stream analyses, opportunity assessments, business cases, use case definitions) that drive client decision-making and investment.

Team Enablement: Mentor and support junior Business Analysts and consultants, helping them develop the skills to independently run sessions, produce deliverables, and manage client interactions.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

6+ years of management consulting experience at a Big Four, tier-two, or leading boutique firm, with a track record of leading operations strategy, business transformation, or value chain reinvention engagements. Ideally at the Senior Manager or Director level.

Independent Client Leadership: Demonstrated ability to independently own executive-level client relationships, facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders, and drive conversations that move programs forward without senior oversight.

Lean Six Sigma & Process Expertise: Strong foundation in structured problem-solving methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, value stream mapping). Black Belt certification or equivalent practical depth is strongly preferred.

Cross-Industry Versatility: Experience across multiple industries and geographies at a senior level. Supply chain, logistics, energy, or healthcare experience is a strong plus, but we value the ability to ramp quickly in unfamiliar domains and cross-pollinate best practices across sectors.

Value Chain Thinking: Experience mapping and transforming end-to-end value chains, not just isolated processes. You see how operational decisions ripple across procurement, logistics, distribution, and financial performance.

Technical Fluency: You do not need to write code, but you must engage meaningfully with Solutions Architects and Data Engineers on topics like data schemas, system integrations, ERP landscapes, and AI/ML model requirements.

AI-Native Workflow: Comfort utilizing AI tools (LLM assistants, agentic workflows) to accelerate research, analysis, and deliverable production. You see AI as a force multiplier for consulting, not a novelty.

Agile Execution: Ability to thrive in rapid, hypothesis-driven sprint cycles (12-week engagement models) where the focus is on validation experiments and speed to insight rather than traditional, slow IT delivery.
