PYTHA Drafter / CAD Designer – Joinery

Job Overview

The PYTHA Drafter will be responsible for producing accurate, production-ready joinery and cabinetry drawings using PYTHA CAD software. Working closely with the Drafting Manager, this role involves developing detailed 3D models, shop drawings, material schedules, and manufacturing documentation while ensuring compliance with internal drafting standards. The successful candidate will also receive training in Alphacam to support CNC integration and manufacturing workflows.

Drafting & Documentation

• Produce detailed 3D models and 2D shop drawings using PYTHA.
• Create plans, elevations, sections, and assembly drawings.
• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, and hardware specifications.
• Revise and update drawings in line with project and business requirements.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with the Drafting Manager to deliver accurate project documentation.
• Interpret architectural and design drawings into practical joinery solutions.
• Coordinate with production, estimating, and project management teams.

Manufacturing & CNC Integration

• Develop drawings suitable for manufacturing and installation.
• Provide technical support to factory operations when required.
• Participate in Alphacam training and support CNC file preparation.
• Assist with CNC processing workflows once trained.

Quality Assurance

• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform quality checks before issuing documentation.

• Demonstrated experience using PYTHA CAD software.
• Strong background in joinery, cabinetry, or shopfitting drafting.
• Solid understanding of joinery construction methods.
• Knowledge of materials including timber, laminates, veneers, and solid surfaces.
• Understanding of hardware and fittings used in joinery projects.
• Strong technical and spatial awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work within established workflows.

• Exposure to CNC processes and machining workflows.
• Experience with Alphacam or similar CNC software.
• Experience working on high-end residential or commercial joinery projects.
