The BNZ runs its own internal branch security guard team in Auckland. We are looking for a new superstar to join our team who has a passion for customer service and a willingness to protect our brand, branch, customers and staff alike.

The position would suit a mature candidate who enjoys helping people and being part of the dynamic banking environment. You'll receive on-going training and be well supported by the Protective Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate so don't hesitate to apply!

Mō te Tūranga | About the Tūranga (Role) 

We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to) and they told us the following about the tūranga: 

This is an Auckland based permanent full time role involving weekends.

What are day-to-day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete? 

  • Checking branch sites for graffiti/damage and reporting details to relevant teams.

  • As the first point of contact for customers, you will be assessing demeanour, always using your security lens.

  • Assist branch staff as and when required when dealing with difficult customers.

  • You will use your situation awareness skills and will be on high alert, listening and watching for any issues before they arise.

  • Asking customers to leave if they become aggressive/abusive, using conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

What do we want you to know before you apply?

As above, this tūranga requires regular weekend work, and you will be based in various locations in the Auckland region.

In addition, you:

  • Will require a COA (certificate of approval) to work as a security guard for the BNZ (Can be obtained prior to starting with BNZ).

  • Will be provided full uniform (excluding black shoes), a work cell phone and lap-top.

  • Will be well-groomed and extremely pro-active.

  • Will have good observation skills for your surroundings.

  • Will bring your passion for customer service and a willingness to learn.

  • Will have outstanding communication skills, you will need to love engaging with our customers.
