The role: 

SailPoint is seeking a Solution Engineering Manager to support our Strategic West solution engineering team. You will play a critical role in growing SailPoint’s business by building and leading a high performing team of Solution Engineers.  Our Solution Engineers play a vital role in demonstrating and communicating the value of SailPoint’s products and thought leadership to our prospective customers in the Identity Governance market. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Hire, coach, and drive an outstanding Solution Engineering team to deliver against assigned goals 

  • Manage individual and team performance ensuring that we are taking the necessary actions to maintain high levels of performance 

  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong management consulting skills to influence thinking or gain acceptance of multiple customer constituencies 

  • Work to improve the SailPoint sales methodology and processes effectively, including development of product presentations and demonstrations tailored to our partners requirements and tuned to suit the level and nature of the audience 

  • Assess gaps in evolving training needs and then create and implement programs to improve sales, product and technology skills of the Sales Engineering team 

  • Work with Regional Sales directors on account planning, strategy, and sales call activity 

  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, particularly field sales, product management and marketing 

  • Manage relationships with product teams & decision makers both internally and externally 

 

What we are looking for: 

  • Previous experience, 5+ years as a sales engineering manager and 5+ years as a sales engineer 

  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to a technical and business audiences 

  • The ideal candidate will already have a good understanding of the solutions, market dynamics and best practices in the Identity Security market 

 

Path to Success: 

Within 30 Days: 

  • Onboarded and met all team members and sales leaders the territory supports. 

Within 60 Days:  

  • Familiar with business and top opportunities and established cadences with peers, sales, and team members. 

Within 90 Days:  

  • Complete product training and into rhythm with team members, peers, and leadership. 

Within 1-Year:  

  • Continue in full partnership with sales leaders and trust of your team while achieving budget for the sales territories supported. 

Education: 

  • Preferred, not required: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or global equivalent experience 

Location:

Must reside in a Western US state

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$142,660 - $240,531.20

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
