The Role
This in‑house corporate counsel role supports Lumen’s Global Partner Solutions organization, with primary responsibility for drafting, negotiating, and advising on partner and channel-related contracts. The position operates in a high‑accountability, fast‑moving environment, requiring strong ownership of legal outcomes, sound judgment, and the ability to balance risk with business objectives. Success in this role depends on clear communication, practical problem‑solving, and effective collaboration with business stakeholders to enable partner‑led sales across a range of technology services.
The Main Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate partner agreements and related customer contracts supporting indirect and channel‑led sales
- Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders on contract terms, risk, and compliance considerations
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, and documentation accuracy aligned with company policies
- Support partner-led sales transactions, working closely with business teams to align legal structures with commercial objectives
- Assist in resolving contract-related issues and disputes, partnering with senior attorneys and business leaders
- Conduct legal research and analysis on applicable laws and regulations impacting technology services and partner arrangements
- Contribute to the development of new contract structures and partnership models, supporting evolving business needs and partner experience
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Active license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Strong writing, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to convey clear, practical legal advice to business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of contracts and competing priorities, with strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to operate with sound business and legal judgment, balancing risk with commercial objectives
- Collaborative, team‑oriented approach with the ability to build effective working relationships across legal and business teams
Preferred:
- Experience or strong interest in technology services, channel partnerships, or indirect sales models
- Familiarity with commercial contracts and partner agreements within the technology or telecommunications industry
- Experience working in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment, supporting business growth and evolving partnership models
Compensation
| This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
