Purpose of Role: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Technician Assistant to join our team in Richards Bay. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in pump assembly to grow their career in a supportive, safety-focused environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pump inspections and providing daily feedback on pumps.
  • Condition monitoring on allocated equipment
  • Collect and return spares to stores.  Ensure spares which are not used in maintenance are returned to stock physically and notification of return sent to the Branch storeman.
  • Assist with managing spares on site.
  • Notify supervisor if critical spares on site are running low.
  • Perform basic manual tasks related to technical work
  • Load, transport, and set up equipment
  • Carry out any reasonable technical-related tasks as instructed
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements as per Field service protocol
  • Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times
  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / N3 Certificate (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Valid driver’s license - C1 / Code 10
  • Clear communication at all levels
  • Able to solve problems in a timely manner
  • Able to read technical drawings
  • Able to work in a team and respond to management direction
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Minerals Processing Plants (advantageous)
  • 5-ton Forklift operating experience (advantageous)
  • Customer focused
  • Safety and quality conscious
