The Associate Provisioning Specialist is responsible for provisioning and configuring laptops, desktops, and virtual machines. They require a good understanding of client platform technologies resolving associated Incidents and Requests that are assigned within the team. It is the first of three progressive levels in Provisioning and Programming Team, based in complexity of technology and associated support, along with accompanying required experience. 

 

How you will create impact:

  • Implement a comprehensive lifecycle asset management program for end-user devices, ensuring efficient utilization and secure disposal of outdated devices
  • Administer virtual desktop infrastructure, streamlining onboarding and offboarding processes for virtual machines.
  • Oversee software deployment, ensuring successful installation and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manage request fulfillment and incident response, prioritizing based on impact and urgency, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Build, configure, and deploy a range of technologies, including desktops, laptops, virtual machines, peripherals, and software.
  • Conduct thorough quality, compliance, and security checks before deploying endpoints, following technical documentation guidelines.
  • Provide comprehensive setup and support for new users, offering both local and remote assistance for hardware and software issues, remote installations and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and develop and maintain a repository of technical knowledge for troubleshooting and resolving advanced desktop computing issues.
  • Perform hardware repairs and refurbishments, including component replacements and upgrades such as RAM, hard drives, and motherboards.
  • Provide break/fix support for immediate resolution of hardware and software problems.
  • Conduct comprehensive training and obtain certifications necessary for hardware repair, following industry-standard technical guidelines.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and business partners for specialized support and procurement of PC equipment.

To join our team:

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field with minimum 1 year of IT experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Technical knowledge and understandings of various technologies such as MDM, Autopilot, Intune, Azure Virtual Machines, Windows 365, and the Windows 10 and 11 environments is an asset.
  • iOS and MacOS platform knowledge including JamF and ABM is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Hardware, Operating Systems, Virtualization, Networking, Identity and Storage to build, troubleshoot and support desktop devices.
  • Certification(s) a plus in following disciplines: Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Managed Endpoints, CompTIA A+, ITIL, Dell Tech Direct Certifications, and Apple Hardware Certifications.
  • Practical experience implementing and supporting Windows and Mac environments technical competencies.
  • Passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies including hardware and software, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Programming skills with JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, C++, Golang, Python, PowerShell, MSSQL and Azure DevOps to support internal Asset Management tools is an asset.
  • Working in a mid to large scale Financial Services organization supporting end users is an asset.

Salary information

Expected salary range $50,280 to $83,800

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Incentive/Variable pay

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
