Clean Energy Tax Credits Manager

USA: Remote

 

Position Summary

As part of the Credits & Incentives team, the Clean Energy Tax Credits Manager leads and delivers advisory, compliance, and support services related to federal clean energy and sustainability tax incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act and other relevant tax law provisions. The Manager is responsible for managing complex client engagements, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance. The role blends tax technical expertise, project management, client service, and financial acumen across renewable energy, sustainability, and clean energy credits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on federal and state clean energy tax incentives including:
    • Investment Tax Credit
    • Production Tax Credit
    • Bonus Incentives (Low-Income Community, Energy Community, PW&A, Domestic Content)
  • Assess project eligibility for a broad range of technologies, including solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, geothermal, biomass, and fuel cells, as well as others.
  • Provide guidance on credit optimization, transferability, direct pay, and monetization strategies
  • Lead multiple concurrent client engagements, overseeing scope, timelines, budgets, and quality of deliverables
  • Perform and review tax credit studies, calculations, models, documentation packages, and supporting workpapers
  • Monitor current and proposed tax legislation and regulatory developments related to clean energy and sustainability
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior professionals through training, feedback, and performance management
  • Communicate with the client related to these credits to obtain the necessary information, as well as, provide progress updates on the status of the projects and claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, tax advisory, or energy consulting
  • Deep understanding of IRC Section 45, 48, and related clean energy provisions
  • Experience with data and productivity tools, Microsoft Excel
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skillsUSA: Remote

Salary:  $125,000 - $150,000 plus bonuses
