Dynamics 365 CE Field Service Consultant / Architect Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) Field Service Consultant / Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced Field Service solutions. This role blends solution architecture, functional consulting, and technical leadership, ensuring that the Dynamics 365 Field Service platform is aligned with business strategy, operational needs, and industry best practices.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to deliver scalable, high‐performing solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Lead the end‐to‐end architecture and solution design of Dynamics 365 Field Service, including Work Order management, scheduling, inventory, asset management, connected field service (IoT), and mobile capabilities.
Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
Design scalable, modular architectures leveraging Power Platform, Azure services, and D365 CE components.
Create solution blueprints, data models, integration patterns, and configuration strategies.
Consulting & Delivery
Conduct workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and business process reviews.
Configure the Field Service application: resources, booking rules, SLA configurations, incident types, workflows, and entitlements.
Guide customers through best practices for field operations, dispatching, service optimization, and preventive maintenance.
Support the full implementation lifecycle—from discovery through deployment and hypercare.
Technical Leadership
Oversee and mentor functional and technical team members.
Provide guidance on integrations using Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, APIs, and third‐party tools.
Collaborate with developers on custom plugins, workflows, JavaScript, Power Apps, and integrations.
Ensure compliance with Microsoft‐recommended architecture standards and security practices.
Project & Stakeholder Management
Partner with project managers and PMO to define scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
Communicate solution direction and decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
Ensure solution quality through documentation, testing support, and technical oversight.
Required Qualifications
5+ years implementing Dynamics 365 CE / CRM solutions.
Deep expertise in Dynamics 365 Field Service functionalities, configuration, and extensibility.
Strong understanding of field service operations: dispatching, resource scheduling, service agreements, IoT/Connected Field Service, inventory & warehouse processes.
Proficiency with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
Experience with Microsoft Azure Services, including Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Functions.
Ability to produce architectural documentation, use-case diagrams, and system design artifacts.
Strong communication skills and experience leading workshops.

Microsoft Certifications such as:
MB‐240: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service
PL‐600: Power Platform Solution Architect
AZ‐204 / AZ‐900 (Azure)
Experience integrating D365 with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, SAP, or Oracle.
Experience with DevOps processes (Azure DevOps CI/CD for Power Platform).
