Software Engineer – C++ | Fusion

Location: Kraków (Hybrid), Poland (Remote)

Position Overview

Responsibilities

Development

  • Develop high-quality, secure, and reliable C++ code for Autodesk Fusion.

  • Own tasks independently and collaborate with team members on complex features.

  • Ensure code meets Autodesk engineering standards, design specifications, and security best practices.

  • Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to engineering excellence.

  • Influence team practices and help improve development workflows.

Debugging & Testing

  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Troubleshoot problems efficiently and identify root causes.

  • Apply risk management strategies such as early testing and automation.

  • Contribute to improving testing strategies and collaborate closely with QA teams.

Documentation

  • Document new features, code updates, and technical decisions.

  • Maintain clear technical documentation and promote documentation best practices across the team.

Agile Development

  • Work within an Agile development environment.

  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

  • Communicate progress, technical risks, and contribute to backlog refinement.

  • Help estimate work and support junior engineers when needed.

Functional & Architectural Contribution

  • Develop a strong understanding of Fusion architecture, product goals, and customer workflows.

  • Participate in technical discussions and contribute to solution design.

  • Break down complex engineering problems and propose scalable solutions.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical improvements within the team.

Customer Focus

  • Understand customer workflows and engineering challenges.

  • Evaluate features from the perspective of real-world user impact.

  • Help translate customer needs into effective technical solutions.

Self & Team Development

  • Continue developing expertise in key technical areas.

  • Mentor less experienced engineers and support knowledge sharing.

  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive engineering culture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience (multiple seniority levels are being considered).

  • Strong programming skills in C++.

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD workflows.

  • Understanding of software development methodologies and Agile practices.

  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.

  • Experience with development tools such as IDEs, debugging tools, and testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with CAD software usage or development.
