  • Support the sales process by following up on new leads, maintaining customer engagement, documenting interactions, and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Build and maintain post-sale relationships to support retention and satisfaction; participate in marketing and outreach within personal networks and campus communities; collaborate with team on sales improvements.

Job Profile Summary

The Sales Intern is an early-career role designed to provide hands-on experience supporting Allstate’s sales model. This role offers practical exposure to customer engagement, sales processes, and relationship management while building foundational skills in communication, business development, and client service. Interns will contribute to sales activities, support customer interactions, and gain insight into how Allstate products meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Property & Casualty (P&C) licensing requirements to become a qualified representative
  • Engage with prospective customers to understand needs and develop solutions that protect their assets
  • Support the sales process by following up on new customer leads and maintaining customer engagement
  • Assist in building and maintaining customer relationships post-sale to support retention and satisfaction
  • Participate in marketing and outreach efforts within personal networks and campus communities
  • Promote relatable products for college populations (e.g., renter’s insurance, device protection)
  • Support day-to-day sales activities, including documenting interactions and tracking follow-up actions
  • Collaborate with team members to gather insights and contribute to sales effectiveness and process improvements

Allstate provides a comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home also receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs.

 

When working from home, you must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating. Reliable internet is required, with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
