Responsibilities

  • Develops models and drawings including conceptual designs and parametric modeling; automates Bill of Materials and electrical schematics and reviews schematics to make design recommendations.
  • Collaborates with designers, engineers, management, and other departments to ensure electrical systems integrate with other systems; provides production support during prototypes and production launches and serves as a point person for manufacturing issues.
  • Seeks and implements new ideas and technologies; develops design standards with the Design Engineering team; supports DFMEAs, PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and seismic evaluations/testing.
  • Maintains safety and compliance knowledge (UL, CE, NEC, IBC, NFPA) and pursues ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, and societies.

Job Description:

Responsible for developing and creating models and assemblies in software for various types of HVAC equipment—including conceptual designs and automation. Creates and reviews schematics for designs and makes design recommendations. May coach and mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops models and drawings including conceptual designs, parametric modeling and new technologies using software.

  • Utilizes programming to automatically generate Bill of Materials and electrical schematics

  • Reviews schematics for designs and makes design recommendations.

  • Collaborates with other designers and engineers to ensure that the electrical systems integrate seamlessly with other systems.

  • Collaborates with engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions.

  • Provides support to production team during prototypes and production launch to facilitate seamless releases and is trusted as a point person or go to for manufacturing issues.

  • Seeks ways to implement new ideas and technologies.

  • Keeps pace with the implementation of new electrical design features

  • Collaborates with the Design Engineering team to develop design standards.

  • Confers with engineering management to complete assigned projects.

  • Supports DFMEAs, PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations and testing.

  • Understands safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA

  • Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.

Education:

  • A two-year technical degree is preferred, along with 3-5 years’ experience in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

  • Eplan ECE certification, but not required.

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.

  • Occasional travel as required.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Lift up to 50lbs.

  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.

  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

Pay Range:

$27.82 - $41.74
