Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT
At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.
Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.
About the Role
We are currently building our Research Team to support research in Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Remote Australia (TARRA). This is an exciting and unique time to join our expanding Research Team and work across meaning research addressing the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance in remote Australia.
With an aim of strengthening the Remote Primary Health setting in the Northern Territory, this position provides high-level administrative, project coordination and research support to ensure effective planning, delivery and reporting of research activities. You will collaborate closely with researchers, leadership and external stakeholders, contributing to data collection, project coordination and the ongoing success of research initiatives, particularly in rural and remote contexts.
A snapshot of your day-to-day responsibilities are listed below:
Provide comprehensive research and administrative support, including data collection, qualitative interviews, and research data management
Coordinate project activities, communications and stakeholder engagement to support research delivery and collaboration
Assist with grant administration, including budget monitoring, reporting and compliance requirements
Support the planning and execution of research projects and strategic initiatives, contributing to improved research outcomes and impact
This position makes a significant contribution to the Universityβs strategic plan to changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035, through directly contributing to the strategic driver of Research that matters, supporting impactful, community-engaged research that improves health outcomes in rural and remote Australia.

About You
You are a highly organised and proactive professional with strong research and administrative capabilities, ideally supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience. You bring well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. With a keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset, you can interpret policies, manage data and support projects in complex environments. You are also culturally aware and committed to contributing to meaningful research outcomes that benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
Proven ability to provide high-level administrative and research support, including data collection, analysis and reporting
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Sound judgement and analytical skills to interpret policies, manage information and solve problems
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusive, community-focused outcomes
