Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-10 years of equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL querying and database testing, including data integrity checks and data migrations validation.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices; strong communication, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills; customer service oriented.
  • DoD security clearance readiness: ability to qualify for CAC and Tier 3 background investigation; must be a U.S. citizen.

Requirements:

  • Conduct unit testing, end-of-sprint checklist testing before production, and perform regression and functional testing across the program; assist Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) as needed.
  • Validate data quality and integrity through data quality checks (foreign key, unique constraints) and checks for duplicates, inconsistencies, and invalid entries.
  • Design and execute test cases with SQL queries to validate data accuracy, consistency, and transformations; verify data migrations and source-target reconciliation.
  • Collaborate closely with Government customers and delivery teams to ensure testing alignment, deliverables, and quality across the initiative.

Job description

Overview:

Nakupuna Solutions is looking for a Senior Test Engineer. This position will support the Department of the Navy, Enterprise Systems & Services Office (PMW 250) and the Naval Safety Command (NAVSAFECOM) efforts for Risk Management Information (RMI). This individual will work with a team delivering an application capable of capturing safety data and supporting the full lifecycle of risk mitigation practices. The RMI initiative consists of four capability areas established to improve safety processes and automated support for those processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct unit testing of feedbacks and execute checklist testing at the end of each sprint prior to production
  • Work closely with Government customers
  • Conduct regression and functional testing for entire program
  • Assist Team Lead with Government Acceptance Testing (GAT) efforts as needed

Data Quality and Integrity Validation

  • Data Integrity Checks: Ensure data integrity through checks like foreign key constraints, unique constraints, and other database constraints.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Verify data quality by checking for duplicates, inconsistencies, and invalid data entries.

Database Testing

  • Test Case Design: Create SQL queries to validate data accuracy, data consistency, and data integrity. Design tests to cover all possible scenarios, including boundary conditions and edge cases.
  • Data Validation: Validate that data transformations and data migrations are performed correctly. Ensure that data in the source and target databases match after migrations.

  • Knowledgeable of Agile software development practices.

Education and Experience: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or 5-10 years equivalent experience.

 

Certification Requirements: Current credentials in relevant information technology and software development practices preferred.

 

DoD System Access: Must be able to qualify for and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 3 (T3) background investigation including an FBI fingerprint check. Must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

 

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
