The Paralegal role at Southworth PC is a vital position that supports our expanding litigation team as we continue to fight for federal employees nationwide. This position is not only essential for managing case workflows and ensuring legal accuracy but also enriches our commitment to offering robust advocacy and delivering justice to our clients. In this capacity, you will significantly impact legal outcomes and provide indispensable assistance to our attorneys as they navigate complex cases.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Case Management: Oversee and ensure all litigation deadlines are met for assigned attorneys, keeping cases organized and on track.
  • Legal Drafting: Prepare drafts of various litigation documents, including discovery requests and responses, briefs, and motions, especially those involving summary judgment.
  • Court Filings: Manage filings with courts, ensuring all pleadings and motions are promptly and accurately submitted.
  • Client Communication: Handle direct communications with clients regarding case status, updates, and necessary coordination, acting as a bridge between clients and the legal team.
  • Research: Conduct substantive legal research to support case strategies, providing attorneys with comprehensive information and vital insights.
  • Discovery Review: Assist with the review and management of discovery materials, facilitating efficient and thorough execution of legal strategies.
  • Support Attorney Team: Work closely with attorneys, ensuring all necessary litigation and case support is provided efficiently and effectively.


What we’re looking for: 

              

  • Litigation Experience: At least 3–5 years in litigation support, with exposure to heavy civil litigation processes preferred.
  • Legal Research Skills: Strong proficiency in legal research and the ability to draft substantive legal documents, including motions and briefs.
  • Writing Ability: Exceptional writing skills capable of producing high-quality legal documents with minimal oversight.
  • Multitasking Capability: Adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced legal environment without compromising on quality.
  • Independence: Proven ability to work autonomously with little direction, ensuring productivity and efficiency are always maintained.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative working style, supporting multiple attorneys and engaging constructively within the team.
  • Remote Work Readiness: Comfortable working in a fully remote environment and able to stay organized, responsive, and accountable with minimal supervision.
