Roles & Responsibilities

  • Extensive Category 4-5 composite blade repair expertise with experience leading and mentoring technicians
  • Proficiency with epoxy and polyester resin wet layup, vacuum infusion, and balsa/foam sandwich materials
  • Ability to perform at-height blade repairs up towers via platforms and rope access, ensuring safety
  • Physically capable, safety-minded, and willing to travel 100% to wind farms across North America (and potentially Canada)

Requirements:

  • Travel 100% to wind farms across North America on an 8/1 rotation, leading field operations
  • Lead and mentor technicians on proper composite blade repairs up to Category 5, including structural and specialty repairs
  • Perform expert composite blade repairs up tower via platforms, occasionally on the ground, and potentially rope access; include epoxy/polyester resin wet lay up and vacuum infusion
  • Complete daily progress and QA/QC reports, conduct on-site stock checks, and coordinate with site lead and project coordinator

Job description

GEV Wind Power US is seeking experienced Traveling Lead Composite Blade Technician 4 with extensive Category 4 & 5 composite blade repair expertise. This role involves leading and mentoring teams of technicians while performing high-quality, complex blade repairs up to Category 5, including structural and specialty repairs. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-minded, and experienced with composite materials such as epoxy and polyester resins, balsa, foam, and fiberglass reinforcement.

Location: Throughout USA (and potentially Canada) | 100% travel on a rotational basis

Position Type: Full-Time Employee or Contractor

Job Responsibilities:

  • Travel 100% to wind farms throughout North America on an 8/1 rotation.

  • Lead and mentor other technicians on a team with proper composite blade repairs, up to Category 5 complex or specialty repairs

  • Perform expert composite blade repair uptower via platforms, occasionally on the ground, and potentially rope access

  • Perform Epoxy and Polyester resin wet lay up, vacuum infusion, balsa and foam sandwich materials

  • May be required to perform structural repair of blades

  • Complete detailed Daily Progress Reporting Documents and QA/QC reports, adhering to Quality Checkpoints

  • Complete onsite stock checks

  • Demonstrate leadership with team

  • Assisting site lead and project coordinator
