Job Title: Senior QA Manager, Product Engineering
POSITION SUMMARY:
CareMetx is seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Manager, Product Engineering to own and elevate end-to-end quality assurance across our product engineering organization. This is a senior leadership role critical to ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of our pharmaceutical hub services platform — including CRM systems, benefits verification services, integration platforms, and customer-facing applications that serve a significant number of patients and healthcare providers.
In this role, you will define and drive the overarching QA strategy across multiple product teams, lead and coordinate distributed testing teams (including offshore resources), and serve as a trusted quality partner to product owners, engineering leaders, and executive stakeholders. You will elevate QA from a functional discipline to a strategic organizational capability — embedding quality practices across the full software development lifecycle. This role focuses on integration testing and cross-team quality assurance, as individual engineering teams own their unit testing.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QA Strategy and Planning
- Define, own, and continuously evolve a comprehensive, multi-year QA strategy for end-to-end testing across our multi-system healthcare technology platform, including CRM applications, benefits verification services, integration layers, and customer-facing portals.
- Design and lead testing strategies for complex cross-team workflows involving multiple systems, ensuring thorough coverage of integration points and data flows.
- Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and executive-level reporting dashboards to provide full visibility into quality status across all products, teams, and initiatives.
- Set and enforce test documentation standards, templates, and best practices adopted across the organization.
- Define test coverage requirements for new features and platforms, ensuring an appropriate and defensible balance between manual and automated testing approaches.
- Proactively identify systemic quality risks across the portfolio and develop mitigation plans before they impact delivery or production.
Test Execution and Team Leadership
- Lead and scale end-to-end testing operations, including management of distributed and offshore QA resources across multiple time zones.
- Drive QA activities for major releases and strategic initiatives, coordinating testing efforts across multiple engineering teams to ensure delivery timelines and quality standards are met.
- Oversee test execution cycles including regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing for complex healthcare workflows.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve service level agreements (SLAs) for defect resolution, holding engineering leaders accountable for timely and high-quality bug fixes.
- Champion a consistent, scalable approach to test planning and execution that can grow with the organization.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior quality voice in cross-functional discussions with product owners, engineering leaders, and executive management — translating quality risks into business impact.
- Lead and facilitate efficient bug triage sessions with engineering teams, driving clear prioritization and accountability for defect resolution.
- Partner with product management to define acceptance criteria and ensure features meet business requirements and regulatory standards before release.
- Collaborate with the architecture team and engineering leadership to ensure QA strategies are tightly aligned with architectural decisions and long-term technology roadmaps.
- Influence organizational decisions around tooling, process, and resourcing with data-backed quality insights.
Automation and Process Improvement
- Own and advance the organization's automation strategy, driving measurable reductions in manual testing effort while maintaining comprehensive coverage.
- Lead the design and implementation of automation frameworks targeting critical user workflows, integration scenarios, and regression coverage.
- Establish and mature CI/CD quality checkpoints and automated testing pipelines to prevent regressions from reaching production.
- Continuously evaluate and champion testing tools, frameworks, and approaches that improve testing efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
- Foster a culture of quality throughout the engineering organization, promoting shift-left testing practices, engineering ownership of unit tests, and quality-first thinking at every stage of development.
Healthcare Domain and Compliance
- Ensure QA strategies fully account for healthcare industry regulations including HIPAA compliance, PHI data protection, and pharmaceutical industry requirements.
- Validate complex healthcare workflows including benefits verification, prior authorization, patient enrollment, and pharmacy integrations.
- Lead testing of integration scenarios with external healthcare systems, pharmaceutical CRMs (Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud), and third-party vendors.
- Uphold and continuously strengthen quality standards for systems processing sensitive patient data and mission-critical healthcare transactions.
- Validate data accuracy and integrity across complex healthcare data flows spanning multiple systems and integration points.
Team Development and Organizational Growth
- Build, mentor, and develop QA team members, accelerating their technical growth and creating a high-performing, engaged quality organization.
- Set clear performance expectations, establish career development paths, and create meaningful growth opportunities for QA professionals at all levels.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams on testing best practices — raising the quality bar across the entire engineering organization.
- Develop and deliver scalable QA training programs and documentation that enable team independence and consistent quality standards.
- Foster deep collaboration between QA and engineering teams, breaking down silos and building a shared commitment to quality as a competitive advantage.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including being present, on time, and prepared for work as scheduled.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
