  • Develop analytics and reporting to assess, optimize, and enhance total rewards programs, participate in industry surveys to maintain competitiveness, and contribute to the pay governance framework.

About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements:
This is a fully remote role! The incumbent may be asked to come onsite to our Ottawa, Ontario Home Office quarterly for team gatherings.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Compensation Program Administration: Coordinate and execute: annual corporate merit reviews, deferred profit-sharing plans, short-term and long-term incentives, operating with minimal oversight while identifying efficiencies and ensuring data integrity with minimal errors.

  • Budget Forecasting: Develop and maintain monthly corporate salary, bonus and position count forecasts to support workforce planning and budget management.

  • Analytics & Reporting: Develop and implement analytics to assess, optimize, and enhance total rewards programs.

  • Job Evaluation: Conduct job evaluations to ensure roles are appropriately classified, benchmarked, and aligned with organizational structures and market standards.

  • Compensation Partnership: Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide compensation recommendations for preferred candidates, ensuring alignment with internal pay equity, competitiveness with external market data, and responsiveness to candidate expectations while maintaining organizational fairness and consistency.

  • Pay Practices Governance: Contributes to building, implementing and sustaining a pay governance framework that promotes internal equity, legislative compliance, and alignment with Giant Tiger’s compensation philosophy and market practices.

  • Survey Participation: Engage in industry surveys and analyze market data to ensure Giant Tiger's total rewards programs remain competitive. Leverage detailed market insights to guide salary range adjustments, aligning job matches with current structures, and assessing impacts on incumbents while considering budget constraints.

  • Training Development: Create comprehensive compensation training resources to enhance business understanding and capability in total rewards programs.

What You'll Bring:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business or HR.

  • 3-5+ years of compensation, and/or recognition experience.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail and maintain confidential information.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Intermediate knowledge of provincial legislation Canada-wide, in particular, pay equity and pay transparency.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distill large quantities of data into a meaningful format.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. vlookups, pivots, etc)

Salary

$66,000.00 - $99,000.00

Short Term Incentive Plan

Bonus - Short-Term Incentive Plan, 10% Annual

Retirement Support

Bonus - Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan (DPSP), 6% Annual

Competitive Compensation: The salary range for this position is listed above. Giant Tiger will consider factors such as experience, skills and internal equity to ensure you are paid competitively.


Short Term Incentive Plan: This role includes an annual bonus opportunity based on the percentage of base salary listed above, with payout determined by company and individual performance.


Retirement Support: This role is eligible for company-funded retirement savings, with contributions made on your behalf. The specific retirement program and contribution level are noted above.
