Job description

The Impact You'll Make

The China FC Product Application Engineering Manager leads a regional team of Product Application Engineers, focusing on fluid connector products (hydraulic hoses, adapter fittings, flexible & rigid pipe assemblies, etc.). He/She is responsible for regional quoting strategies, part activation tracking (especially customized assemblies), new business onboarding, and driving RFQ win rate improvement through professional technical support.

The Leader manages application engineers’ daily work: reviewing customer specifications (e.g., hydraulic/pneumatic system conditions), identifying technical needs, and recommending suitable fluid connector products and solutions. He/She interacts with customers remotely and in-person to ensure a positive experience from product selection, quoting to implementation (prototype matching, assembly guidance, on-site piping).

The Leader oversees team KPIs (customer application failure rate, technical delivery on-time rate, customer satisfaction), sets work directions, conducts performance evaluations, manages budgets, exercises engineering judgment, approves key technical documents, and formulates/implements regional product application strategies.

Additionally, the Leader coordinates cross-departmental collaboration: feeding customer needs to R&D for product iteration, optimizing assembly processes with production, and empowering sales with technical support. He/She ensures compliance with SAE, GB, ISO standards, avoids risks, and balances technical performance and cost.

  • Develop and implement a regional Application Engineering strategy (short-term and long-term) that is in-line with the Divisional strategy, creating a clear vision and purpose for the team.
  • Direct and oversee the engineering team, setting clear goals, objectives, and development plans. Manage adherence to standards and quality, and use scorecards to measure progress and drive the right behaviors.
  • Identify and quantify projects (in SCM, operation, VAVE) to improve the Division's cost position and profitability. Continuously improve standard work and processes such as quotation, customer onboarding, and part set-up.
  • Interact with manufacturing plants to understand capabilities and resolve challenges. Train the sales force and customers on products and services, and own the coordination of customer-required product changes.
