Job description

Blue Monkeys in Space is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to project manage and act as the bridge between stakeholders and the Tech department at Bodymod 🛸 If you are ready to manage the flow and ensure our roadmap hits the orbit on time, keep reading!

Our Technical Delivery Manager will manage internal and cross-departmental synchronisation. You can translate high-level business goals into a realistic, high-velocity schedule by taking full ownership of our team's bandwidth. This is not a pure PM role, and not a pure delivery role. It is the role with both hats. You will own the flow of work from the moment a request lands to the moment it ships and is documented, making sure nothing enters the workflow half-baked, no stakeholder is left with false expectations, and no developer is blocked waiting for an answer. You will report directly to the CTO.

What you'll do:

Your scope

  • Gauge Capacity & Resources: Maintain a real-time view of development capacity, accounting for leave, holidays, and tech debt allocations.

  • Scheduling & Release management: Own the master calendar, aligning multiple requests from departments, website tests, security updates and high-stakes seasonal events like Black Friday.

  • Blocker Removal & Escalation: Proactively identify technical bottlenecks and resolve them before they impact the delivery date.

  • Negotiating delivery dates: Act as the primary interface for requesting departments; evaluate urgency and negotiate timeline.

  • Documentation: Once features ship, you ensure they are documented. For features not covered by other parties, you own this directly.

  • Data-Driven Reporting: Report on project health and velocity, providing the CTO and stakeholders with clear visibility into risks and delivery timelines.

What you bring onboard

  • Experience in ecommerce: You have previously worked closely with technical leadership to streamline department operations. You understand how dev cycles interact with commercial calendars.

  • Strong BA instincts: You know what a well-written spec looks like and you're not afraid to send it back when it isn't there yet.

  • Agile expertise: You believe in the Agile mindset to keep our delivery cycles lean, iterative, and fast.

  • AI-Augmented workflow: You are full hands-on with AI and love leveraging it to stay ahead of the curve, while keeping a sharp eye out for incoherences and "hallucinations" before hitting implementation.

  • Win-Win negotiation mindset: You navigate conflicting priorities by finding the "third way" where all stakeholders including the tech team win.

  • Pushback without friction: You protect the team's capacity without burning relationships. You find the "third way" when priorities collide.

Very good-to haves

  • Experienced with Magento 2, Jira, Google Workspace.

  • Familiarity with any scheduling or project health tooling is a plus.

  • Experience in e-commerce.

The position

  • In Malta or Fully remote

  • 30 to 40 hrs per week, depending on your needs

  • Flexible hours within CET office hours

  • Competitive salary and benefits package based on experience and location. If based in Malta, the salary fork is between 35K to 50K per year.
