While some administrative work is involved, this is primarily a hands-on maintenance supervision role. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong fault-finding ability, and the ability to maintain high maintenance standards in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining safe and reliable operations across our automated freight handling network, while supporting and guiding a small team of tradespeople.

This position is primarily based at Larapinta but also provides support to local sites across SE Queensland including Brisbane Airport, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, and Lismore. A company vehicle is provided for inter-site travel when required.

Key Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration package – salaried position

  • Full-time permanent role

  • Monday to Friday roster

  • PPE and uniforms provided

  • Hands-on leadership role with autonomy

  • Strong focus on safety, wellbeing, and career development

  • Opportunity to work on automated sortation and conveyor systems in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a small team of maintenance tradespeople

  • Be the go-to person during breakdowns and fault finding situations

  • Carry out hands-on maintenance and repairs on conveyors, sorters, and depot equipment

  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and add operational value

  • Support operations to maximise equipment uptime and keep freight moving

  • Assist with planning and coordination of maintenance activities while remaining floor-focused

  • Maintain critical spare parts, tooling, and workshop equipment

  • Support contractors and suppliers working onsite

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and reliability

  • Promote a strong safety-first and accountability culture

  • Provide support to surrounding SE Queensland sites when required

What you'll bring

  • Current driver’s licence

  • Strong fault-finding ability on conveyors, automation, and industrial equipment

  • Experience working in freight handling, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or other high-speed industrial environments

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and pneumatics

  • Exposure to VSDs, sensors, and basic PLC fault finding

  • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

  • A hands-on leader who can support and guide trades without micromanaging

  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and keep things moving under pressure

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with operations teams

  • Experience with automated sortation or parcel handling systems highly regarded

  • Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Team Leader, or Supervisor role within maintenance environments preferred
