Assistant Controller

We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our fast growing, dynamic company.  This position is fully remote. The Assistant Controller will serve as a trusted partner to the Controller and CFO and support our growth and strategy. The primary responsibilities include developing a strong team, overseeing accounting operations, and implementing new processes and systems that help us scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and provide leadership for the Accounting team
• Oversee  & perform monthly financial closing procedures; ensuring timeliness and accuracy
• Oversee the development and implementation of accounting processes and procedures
• Prepare & review monthly account analysis
• Participate in development and tracking of capital and operational budgets & variance analysis
• Assess processes and procedures and implement automation as necessary
• Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP standards and/or regulatory rules, including implementation of any changes
• Assist with the development and refinement of financial and operational reports
• Provide analysis and financial information to senior leaders to guide decision making
• Interact and communicate effectively with Accounting team, other internal departments and customers at various levels
• Complete special assignments as required by the Controller and CFO

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• Experience in leading a team
• Minimum 7 years’ work experience in accounting roles
• Experience with preparation of GAAP financial reports
• Experience with variance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills of Pivots, SumIfs, Lookups required; Power Quiery & Power BI macros preferred
• Experience with SAP B1 a plus
• Experience in distribution and/or publishing industries a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly detailed-oriented and well organized
