Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Achieve the assigned sales quota by promoting the full Infectious Disease portfolio and executing related marketing activities, including product presentations and competitive intelligence.
  • Carry out sales calls targeting high-potential areas and implement the Go-to-Market strategy aligned with regional/global objectives for the country.
  • Build, maintain and expand partnerships with target accounts through consultative selling to KOLs, assessing customer needs and advising on applications of Abbott products and services.
  • Collaborate with distributor sales teams and distribution partners to develop and execute effective local sales strategies, provide training and marketing support, and deliver forecasts and market intelligence.

This position works out of our Makkah location. Field site. in the Rapid Diagnostic Infectious Disease Division

Rapid diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. 

Job Purpose and Scope:

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics’ Infectious Disease goal is to lead in market development and adoption of point of care diagnostics (POC) in our core markets of Infectious Diseases.  The move from laboratory-based tests and the associated material and information flows to diagnostics delivered at the point of care requires deep change for many customers. The Sales Executive is responsible for promoting the full range of ID portfolio for their designated territory of responsibility to leverage cross-franchise synergies and to facilitate new Covid-related product launches.

Core Job Responsibilities:

The Sales Executive has full responsibility for achieving the assigned sales quota. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage and drive the development of their territory through the promotion of new and existing products, with all relevant marketing activities such as product presentations and competitor blunting information.

  • Carry out sales calls, targeting high sales areas for maximum efficiency.

  • Implementation of the Go to Market strategy aligned with the regional and global approach appropriately to the country’s specific objectives

  • Build, maintain and expand strong partnerships with target accounts via consultative selling approach to KOLs

  • Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on the application of company products and services to customer requirements.

  • Cooperate closely with distributor sales teams to develop and execute effective local sales strategies by customer segment.

  • Support distribution partners in the sale of products, including training, sales meetings, technical expertise and marketing support.

  • Provide forecasts, business reports and action plans as required on a timely basis, re-evaluating on a regular basis performance against forecast and budget.

  • Accurate and reliable demand planning and forecasting based on customer/distributor commitments.

  • Collect and maintain up-to-date market intelligence (competition, prices, tenders) and customer-related feedback.

  • Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with company image, ensuring activities stay in line with legal and ethical standards.

Knowledge / Education Required:

  • University Degree in Life Sciences / Pharma / Biomedical engineering or related field

  • Strong command of English language (written & verbal). Additional languages are advantageous.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in healthcare sales, preferably in the diagnostics/POC field

  • Familiarity of the healthcare industry and private healthcare providers for the given territory

  • Relation with the key customers in the field is a plus.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience with CRM systems preferred.

  • Ability to multitask and set priorities effectively.
