Roles & Responsibilities

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of technical experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); BLS certification.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy; able to perform quality CT examinations in accordance with standards; able to provide instruction to other technologists on the same equipment; deliver SAFE care per the Alwaysafe program; use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery.

Job description

Overview:

This position is responsible for providing 24/7 operational and clinical oversight of Piedmont Healthcare's
enterprise Virtual Imaging Program, supporting CT and MRI services across Piedmont Healthcare hospitals and
imaging centers. Reporting to system imaging leadership, this role leads centralized virtual imaging operations
from the Piedmont Healthcare System Support Center and ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging
services in alignment with system standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives. This position
requires strong leadership presence, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a comprehensive
understanding of CT and MRI workflows, imaging technology, and enterprise operations.

Responsibilities:

Provide 24/7 leadership, oversight, and accountability for virtual CT and MRI operations.
Lead centralized virtual imaging operations supporting multiple hospitals and imaging centers.
Partner with entity Imaging Directors and Managers to align virtual support services with local operational needs.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards related to CT and MRI
services.
Support the development and enforcement of standardized CT and MRI protocols and best practices across the
enterprise.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, technologists, IT, and vendors to resolve clinical, technical, or workflow
issues.
Oversee staffing models, scheduling, onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing performance management
of virtual imaging staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Serve as an operational leader for virtual imaging platforms and supporting technologies.
Partner with IT and vendors to support system optimization, implementation, and enhancements.
Contribute to strategic planning and the future expansion of the Virtual Imaging Program.
Monitor, analyze, and report key performance metrics, including turnaround times, productivity, quality, and
staffing efficiency.
Collaborate effectively with system leadership, physicians, hospital teams, and external partners.
Travel to Piedmont Healthcare facilities as needed.
Perform additional duties and special projects assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5 years of technical experience Required and
  • 1 year of supervisory experience Required

Licenses and Certifications
