Job Overview

The Program Manager provides operational oversight and program implementation for the Templeton Pluralism Fellowship, a seven-figure, multi-year grant initiative led by ACMCU Senior Fellows Dr. Matthew Kaemingk and Dr. Shadi Hamid, and supervised by ACMCU Director of Programs Jonathan Stupple. The Fellowship convenes a cohort of twelve Muslim and Christian scholars and emerging public intellectuals researching religion, politics, and the future of democratic life.

The Program Manager manages all programmatic, financial, operational, and partnership components of the grant and serves as the primary driver of execution across all fellowship initiatives. The Program Manager will be part of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at the School of Foreign Service in Georgetown University.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic program leadership, including implementation of day-to-day operations

  • Financial and grant management

  • Fellowship and event operations, including managing logistics related to domestic and international retreats

  • Initiative development and program expansion

  • Communications and external partnerships

  • Podcast production and public engagement

Work Interactions

The Program Manager advances ACMCU’s mission of Muslim-Christian Understanding by fostering conversations on pluralism and deep difference between emerging public intellectuals and scholars from Muslim and Christian backgrounds. The Program Manager works closely with Fellows Dr. Matthew Kaemingk and Dr. Shadi Hamid and ACMCU Director of Programs Jonathan Stupple to accomplish the project’s aims while ensuring smooth operations and sound financial management. The Program Manager reports directly to ACMCU Director of Programs Jonathan Stupple. The Program Manager works closely with the SFS Finance team and the SFS Dean’s office in the administration of the grant. The position directly advances Georgetown University’s mission of promoting serious and sustained discourse among people of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs promotes intellectual, ethical and spiritual understanding.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, political theology, or related field and 5-7 years of experience in academic program management.

  • A master’s degree is strongly preferred

  • Experience managing complex grant-funded initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee large budgets and institutional financial processes.

  • Strong facilitation skills in multifaith and multicultural contexts.

  • Experience coordinating high-level academic programs or research communities.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with strategic foresight.

  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.

  • A high level of organization and adaptability along with an entrepreneurial approach.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
