Career Track: This position is on track to grow into a Senior Manager of Quality Engineering role, with the potential to expand into broader oversight of platform development operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of Quality Engineering to lead the quality strategy, standards, and execution across the Evoke product engineering organization. This role is responsible for raising the bar on software quality, driving the evolution of our test automation practices, and serving as the accountable owner for release readiness and production sign-off.

This individual will lead a team of three (one QA Analyst and two QA Engineers) responsible for functional and regression testing of the Evoke web application, performance testing, and the ongoing evolution of our automated test coverage. The role demands a balance of hands-on technical leadership and forward-looking innovation, applying AI-assisted testing, modern automation frameworks, and contemporary QA practices to keep pace with how enterprise SaaS is built and shipped today.

You will work day-to-day with Product Engineering development teams and partner closely with Customer Service and Operations during production issue response, ensuring the Evoke platform consistently meets the quality, reliability, and customer experience standards expected of an enterprise SaaS provider.

We will consider qualified candidates for fully remote work (must reside in the U.S. only).

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Standards

  • Define, document, and enforce quality engineering standards across the product engineering organization
  • Establish measurable quality metrics (defect escape rate, test coverage, automation pass rate, etc.) and report on them regularly
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, test design, and defect management practices
  • Champion a quality-first culture across product engineering, partnering with developers to embed quality earlier in the lifecycle

Test Automation and Innovations

  • Assess the current automation footprint (Katalon/Selenium) and define the go-forward automation strategy
  • Evaluate and introduce AI-assi
  • Oversee automation suite health, including test stability, execution time, and meaningful coverage of business-critical paths
  • Identify opportunities to apply automation to traditionally manual areas, including regression, smoke, and performance testing

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three across QA analyst and QA engineering functions
  • Set individual growth plans, provide regular coaching, and conduct performance reviews
  • Recruit and onboard new team members as the function scales
  • Balance team capacity across competing engineering priorities and product initiatives

Release Readiness and Sign-Off

  • Serve as the accountable owner for release sign-off on all production deployments
  • Define and enforce release readiness criteria, including test completion, defect thresholds, and risk assessment
  • Lead production-issue response from a quality perspective, partnering with Customer Service and Operations to triage, prioritize, and remediate

Functional, Regression, and Performance Testing

  • Oversee functional and regression testing for the Evoke web application across manual and automated scopes
  • Define and execute performance testing strategies for high-volume and high-concurrency scenarios
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects, and coordinate user acceptance testing where applicable
Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of QA best practices in enterprise SaaS environments
  • Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Katalon, Cypress, or Playwright
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and a track record of evaluating and adopting new QA innovations
  • Demonstrated experience defining quality standards and release readiness criteria
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic team leadership
  • Experience working in Agile development environments

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or team management role
  • Demonstrated experience leading QA for an enterprise SaaS product
  • Experience defining and owning release sign-off processes for production deployments
  • Experience with highly configurable and/or low-code SaaS platforms preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
