Role:

We are seeking an innovative, clinically driven, and operationally focused Director of Teleaudiology to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a nationwide teleaudiology program for a growing hearing healthcare organization. This role will be responsible for establishing scalable remote care models, defining standards of care for teleaudiology services, and ensuring consistent, high-quality patient outcomes across a national network of clinics and partner locations. The Director of Teleaudiology will oversee a team of remote audiologists and work collaboratively with clinical, operational, technology, training, compliance, and executive leadership teams to build and optimize teleaudiology services that enhance patient access, provider efficiency, and clinical excellence. This leader will play a critical role in shaping the future of hybrid hearing healthcare delivery by combining innovative technology with patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Teleaudiology Program Development & Strategy

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive teleaudiology strategy to support a nationwide network of hearing healthcare locations.
    • Establish scalable workflows, operational processes, and clinical protocols for remote audiology services.
    • Design and implement standards of care specific to teleaudiology and hybrid care delivery models.
    • Identify opportunities to expand access to care through innovative telehealth solutions and remote service delivery.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to support long-term growth and strategic initiatives related to teleaudiology.
    • Ensure teleaudiology services align with organizational goals, patient experience expectations, and operational objectives.

    Clinical Standards & Quality Assurance

    • Establish and maintain clinical best practices, quality assurance measures, and performance standards for remote audiology services.
    • Ensure consistency in patient care, counseling, verification, documentation, and follow-up processes across all teleaudiology encounters.
    • Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction metrics, provider performance, and operational KPIs.
    • Develop and implement processes for continuous quality improvement and clinical optimization.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer requirements, HIPAA guidelines, and telehealth standards.
    • Partner with credentialing and compliance teams to ensure remote providers maintain appropriate licensure and regulatory compliance.

    Team Leadership & Provider Oversight

    • Supervise, mentor, and support a nationwide team of remote audiologists.
    • Create staffing models, scheduling structures, and provider utilization strategies to support efficient teleaudiology operations.
    • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered care.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development initiatives for teleaudiology providers.
    • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of remote audiology team members.

    Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with clinic operations teams to integrate teleaudiology services into existing patient care workflows.
    • Collaborate with technology teams to optimize telehealth platforms, remote programming tools, and digital patient care solutions.
    • Partner with training and education teams to develop teleaudiology training resources and competency programs.
    • Coordinate with payer, legal, and compliance teams regarding telehealth regulations, billing requirements, and reimbursement processes.
    • Support troubleshooting and operational problem-solving related to teleaudiology services and remote care delivery.

    Innovation & Growth

    • Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, regulations, and best practices related to teleaudiology and hearing healthcare.
    • Evaluate new technologies and care delivery models that improve access, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
    • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on teleaudiology strategy and implementation.
    • Participate in conferences, professional organizations, and industry initiatives related to telehealth and audiology innovation.

    Requirements:

    • Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or Ph.D. in Audiology, Speech & Hearing Sciences, or related field.
    • Current audiology licensure in good standing.
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of clinical audiology experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated experience with teleaudiology, remote programming, telehealth, or hybrid care delivery models.
    • Experience developing clinical workflows, protocols, and operational processes.
    • Strong understanding of audiology clinical standards, patient care delivery, and hearing healthcare operations.
    • Ability to lead and motivate remote teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong technology aptitude and comfort working with telehealth platforms and digital care tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience building or scaling telehealth or teleaudiology programs.
    • Experience managing multi-state provider teams.
    • Familiarity with hearing aid technology, remote programming platforms, and verification best practices.
    • Experience working within multi-site healthcare organizations.
    • Knowledge of payer requirements, insurance workflows, and telehealth reimbursement processes.
    • CCC-A and/or FAAA designation preferred.
