WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The Product Owner is responsible for translating prioritized product initiatives and epics into well-defined functional and technical requirements that enable efficient and predictable delivery by engineering teams. Working closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, and Quality, the Product Owner ensures that product initiatives are decomposed into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation that allow development teams to execute effectively.

This role serves as the operational bridge between product strategy and engineering execution. The Product Owner owns backlog quality and delivery readiness for their assigned product domain or engineering team, ensuring that stories entering development are well understood, actionable, and aligned with product objectives. The Product Owner plays a key role in maintaining backlog health, supporting agile delivery practices, and enabling consistent, high-quality product releases.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Translate prioritized product initiatives and epics into detailed functional and technical requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Maintain and manage the product backlog for assigned product areas or engineering teams, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to ensure product strategy and roadmap initiatives are accurately reflected in backlog priorities and delivery plans
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Design, and Quality teams to clarify requirements, answer questions, and support effective implementation of product functionality
  • Lead or facilitate backlog refinement sessions to ensure stories meet established Definition of Ready standards before sprint planning
  • Ensure functional and technical documentation remains accurate, current, and aligned with delivered product functionality
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to support effective agile delivery practices
  • Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined, and solutions meet expected functionality and quality standards
  • Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, or ambiguities that could impact delivery timelines or solution quality
  • Support continuous improvement of delivery processes, documentation practices, and backlog management standards within the Product Delivery organization
  • 25% of your time may include travel for client visits, conferences, and networking

 WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  •  2–5 years of experience in a product, business analysis, delivery, or technical role within a SaaS or technology environment
  • Experience working with agile development teams and familiarity with Scrum or similar iterative delivery frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business or product requirements into clear functional specifications or user stories
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail in documentation and requirements definition
  • Experience working with tools such as JIRA or similar backlog management platforms
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

WHAT SETS YOU APART?

  • Prior experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA analyst, or similar delivery-focused role
  • Familiarity with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and agile delivery ceremonies
  • Experience supporting software development teams delivering SaaS or enterprise software solutions
  • Experience working in regulated or complex product environments (e.g., life sciences, financial services, healthcare, enterprise SaaS)
  • Exposure to API-based systems, integrations, or platform-oriented products
  • Experience contributing to documentation, testing support, or release readiness activities within a product development lifecycle
