Roles & Responsibilities

  • 2+ years of relevant experience with social media management for consumer brands, specifically Instagram and TikTok, preferably in the education space
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, New Media, Social Media or related field
  • Experience with social media management or monitoring tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Later or similar
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and/or Canva and strong written/verbal communication

Requirements:

  • Own end-to-end social media strategy for CIEE Study Abroad on Instagram and TikTok, including trend forecasting, content planning, performance optimization, and influencer/ambassador ecosystems to drive reach, engagement, and enrollment
  • Maintain and execute a comprehensive social media calendar, manage social listening, respond to posts, track brand mentions by hashtag and center location, and ensure brand voice consistency
  • Analyze engagement metrics, inform and optimize campaigns, and scale ambassador/influencer programs with referral-based growth; explore new content strategies and channels
  • Collaborate with internal departments (across 45+ centers) to align content strategy, support integrated campaigns, and maintain social media guidelines and best practices across centers

Who you are: 

A successful candidate will ensure strategic alignment of social media content with the organization’s marketing and business priorities. Additional they will create and manage content for the CIEE Study Abroad handle across Instagram and TikTok with a focus on reach and engagement with our key audiences. They will coordinate with internal departments, particular across our 45+ centers, to support a clear and cohesive content strategy. This role will own social strategy from end-to-end: from trend forecasting and content planning to performance optimization and ambassador/influencer ecosystems.


What you’ll do: 

  • Maintain a comprehensive social media calendar with publish information, including by channel, that’s accessible across the larger marketing team. 
  • Manage social listening platform for CIEE Study Abroad’s primary social media channels, including responding / engaging with posts as appropriate and/or escalating questions/comments as needed. 
  • Track mentions of CIEE Study Abroad across social media by hashtag as well as across center locations. 
  • Create and share relevant, engaging content aligned to the CIEE Study Abroad brand and designed to reach prospective college students. 
  • Ensure alignment with brand tone and voice. 
  • Review engagement reports across to evaluate what types of content types or delivery channels perform best and share/implement those recommendations as appropriate. 
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns from a social media perspective by recommending and implementing social media strategies informed by data, metrics and best practice. 
  • Maintain social media guidelines and best practices handbook to support CIEE Centers. 
  • Track and measure key metrics to evaluate success and impact against student enrollment goals. 
  • Scale ambassador and influencer programs by driving referral-based growth through social-driven initiatives. 
  • Explore new content strategies and distribution channel, including testing opportunities, as part of the content marketing team.
  • Remain up-to-date on best practices in content and social media marketing.


What you’ll bring: 

  • Professional experience with social media platforms, specifically Instagram and TikTok, on behalf of a consumer brand, preferably in the education space.
  • BS in Communications, Marketing, New Media, Social Media or related degree/field. 
  • Experience with social media management or monitoring tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Later or other similar tools. 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), Microsoft Office and/or Canva. 
  • Keen sense of creativity and brand alignment. 
  • Superior multitasking and critical thinking skills. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and follow-through skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrable writing / content experience that connects with student audiences. 
  • Ability to manage to deadlines with a sense of urgency. 
  • Basic video creation, production, and/or editing a plus.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Study Abroad or international travel experience.
