HBK is looking for an aggressive, goal-oriented Field Sales Engineer to be located in Southwestern US, preferably in Arizona. The role will be home based. As a Field Sales Engineer, you must combine technical knowledge with sales skills to serve as HBK’s solutions provider across wide variety of vertical market applications including, but not limited to the aerospace, defense, industrial automation and power measurement industries.
Sales territory will include states of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and may adjust over time. The role will cover a wide swath of HBK’s sensor (acoustics, strain, acceleration, force, displacement, torque, power, etc) and associated data acquisition hardware and software. Experience with HBM and Bruel & Kjaer products preferred. Must be comfortable and passionate selling to technical end users as well as upper management.

Primary responsibilities
- Direct sales responsibilities - Provide full sales coverage for the territory, closing business
- Provide regular feedback of territory business climate to management
- Identification of new business and maintain loyalty of existing customer base
- Establish and maintain professional selling relationships across all levels of the customer’s organization, including engineering, marketing, purchasing, and senior management
- Plan and execute customer visits and presentations to promote HBK awareness and develop opportunities
- Develop strategies to grow HBK’s presence in, automotive, military, machinery, and other market segments
- Strong technical understanding of key HBK products with ability to perform basic hardware and software demonstrations
- Participate in regional trade shows and conferences to foster new business
- Develop and maintain sales forecast coordinating closely with inside sales
- Work closely with product marketing to identify key applications where HBK offers unique value
- Support marketing with application information and feedback
- Diligently log sales activities and opportunities in CRM
- Network and prospect for new opportunities and contacts using social media
Professional qualifications
- ME or EE degree or other technical degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, aeronautical) or physical science discipline strongly preferred
- Working knowledge and experience selling one or more of the following: acoustics, sound/vibration measurement, instrumentation, test and measurement products, sensors; the ideal candidate will have experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Acoustics or Test Measurement.
- Must be self-motivated, organized and have the ability to handle numerous parallel tasks and projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, technical ability to learn diverse product line a must
- Background in instrumentation, test or data acquisition, acoustics
- Ability and experience in demonstrating technical products
- Candidates with experience selling into system integrators, aerospace and defense, electric power measurement or motor/inverter industries a plus.
- Proven track record in sales with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience meeting or exceeding sales quota.
- Successful history working from home office with minimal supervision
- Miller Heiman Strategic, Conceptual Selling or Sandler Sales System experience a plus
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 annually plus 43% bonus plan. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state
