Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3+ years of recent Workers’ Compensation customer service or underwriting support experience, preferably in a carrier, MGA, or agency environment.
  • Solid understanding of Workers’ Compensation concepts, including class codes, experience mods, loss runs, and basic underwriting principles.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Remote work readiness: self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks effectively, multitask with ease, and maintain discipline in a remote work environment.

The BTIS Workers Compensation department is currently looking for an Associate who shares our drive for greatness. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of our New Business Underwriting Team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Underwriting: Evaluate and underwrite Workers’ Compensation new business submissions, following underwriting guidelines and performance metrics to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Customer Support: Assist customers with policy-related inquiries via phone, and email - providing prompt, professional, and solutions‑focused service.
  • Review & Analyze: Underwriting alerts, carrier bureau criteria, and automated carrier decision flags to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal guidelines and carrier requirements.
  • Request Processing: Process endorsement requests and bind requests, as needed, while adhering to underwriting guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team Support: Partner closely with senior underwriters and processors, stepping in where needed to keep workflows moving, resolve issues, and ensure the team delivers fast, accurate, “Be Great” service.

What We Look for:

  • 3+ years of recent Workers’ Compensation customer service or underwriting support experience, preferably in a carrier, MGA, or agency environment.
  • Solid understanding of Workers’ Compensation concepts, including class codes, experience mods, loss runs, and basic underwriting principles.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to review & analyze underwriting alerts, bureau data, and system indicators with sound judgment.
