Overview:

Legal Intern Duties:

The Legal Intern is responsible for working closely with department colleagues, learning about legal processes, and contributing to the success of the organization. This role will assist with administrative legal tasks, perform foundational research, and help organize the department’s digital records and template libraries. 

Pay Range: USD $19.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr. Responsibilities:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support counsel with monitoring legislative changes impacting the industry.
  • Assist in the intake process for new requests and matters, ensuring all necessary data is accurately entered into the tracking system.
  • Observe the legal hold process and document preservation protocols
  • Collaborate with Corporate Counsel to prepare reports or other documents for internal department meetings.
  • Draft basic correspondence and internal memos under the supervision of Corporate Counsel.
  • Shadow attorneys during virtual meetings.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Counsel to support various employment-related requests.
  • Conduct introductory research on the intersection of artificial intelligence and data security.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly. Must be able to take direction and work well with others. Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately. Must be able to react to change productively.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED Equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (rising Sophomore or Junior preferred). All majors are welcome, though a focus on Finance, Political Science, English, Business, or Philosophy is a plus.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).

  • Professional phone presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
