  • 5+ years of related MBSE/Systems Modeling experience (e.g., with DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, UAF)
  • Proficiency with UML modeling tools (e.g., Cameo Enterprise Architect) and ability to extend UML models to other tools via frameworks/APIs; knowledge of executable models (fUML)
  • Strong requirements analysis and system decomposition across perspectives (capability, operational, system, functional) at multiple abstraction levels; effective stakeholder communication
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain/hold a US Secret clearance; Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (or 10 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree) and 5+ years of related experience

Requirements:

Job Description Summary:

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an MBSE Engineer.

Primary Duties:

  • Must be capable of performing analysis of system operations 

  • Must be capable of system decomposition via OMG frameworks (UML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, UAF)

  • Must be able to model systems via different perspectives (e.g. capability, operational, system, functional) and at various levels of abstraction

  • Must be familiar with UML modeling tools (Cameo Enterprise Architect preferred)

  • Must be able to meet with stakeholders in a variety of system domains and analyze requirement, process, system, and/or capability

  • Must be capable of extending UML-based models to other tools or modeling environments via existing frameworks/API’s

  • Must be familiar with executable models (fUML specification preferred)

  • Must have the ability to generate/produce data and reports

  • Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification in modeling, e.g. OCSMP (OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional)

  • Experience modeling complex systems for Department of Defense or other government organizations

  • Experience using configuration management/version control tools such as Git

  • Experience publishing models to web-based or document-based formats

  • Experience designing applications using object-oriented patterns (e.g. OOSEM)

  • Experience in designing applications from a published API

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel 

  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high quality environment 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail

Education Required:

  • BA/BS in an engineering discipline (e.g. aerospace, electrical, mechanical, software) with 5+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. (10 total years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.)

Security Clearance:

  • US Secret security clearance

Location:

  • Remote but within proximity of Hanscom or a DAF base for occasional onsite duties

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
