Title: AVP-Systems Engineering

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business – telecommuting permitted)

Duties: Conduct highly complex systems automation/scripting and systems support activities, including system integration and monitoring. Develop departmental standard practices and automations in many areas and evaluate new technologies. Identify issues related to technology infrastructure or in support of software development process with both short term and longer-term views. Demonstrate a broad knowledge level across multiple areas of information technology, including Red Hat, Patching, Vulnerability Management, Automation and Orchestration along with Cloud. Contribute to create a vision that connects engineering strategies to the big picture and sets action plans accordingly. Partner with application development and infrastructure teams to align leading edge and leveraging strategies. Collaborate with Security team to ensure system configurations are compliant with security policies and controls
standards. Create technology efficiency and new capabilities through automation. Oversee complete lifecycle of technology products. Implement medium to large scale system deployment (hardware, OS and cloud platforms). Support new and existing deployments through analysis of metrics, logs, and system alarms to troubleshoot problems and perform preventative maintenance on various products. Create new tools and automation of existing ones to improve efficiency of product maintenance. Analyze, acquire, install, modify, and support operating systems. Create and maintain design documentation for new products and procedures. Facilitate outage restoration calls to access application impact, notify business, and restore system issues. Serve as a point of escalation for operations team in case of high severity incidents. Present complex technical and business issues to the appropriate audience. Coordinate cross functionally to address business needs and resolve technical issues. Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus at least three (3) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or a related IT position working with enterprise Operating Systems. Must have experience with the following: working with enterprise Server Operating Systems such as Unix, RHEL 6/7/8 and CentOS; applying knowledge of Ansible as orchestration tool and python/bash as scripting language; working on AWS/Azure cloud, Monitoring standard, Patch management, Virtualization, Tuning and troubleshooting OS (CPU, Memory and I/O, Cloud deployments); applying enterprise deployment strategies for server OS; and applying knowledge of OS lifecycle management and secure system configurations. Telecommuting permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.)

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $160,805 to $180,700/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
