Roles & Responsibilities

  • University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance (equivalency considered)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in casualty/liability adjusting
  • CIP designation or actively working toward CIP designation
  • Adjuster’s license or completion of the first four CIP courses (C11-C14, including C110 Essentials of Loss Adjusting) with equivalency in education/experience considered

Requirements:

  • Actively adjust liability and casualty claims while marketing and following up on opportunities to maximize business development
  • Manage a dynamic portfolio with strong organizational skills to balance day-to-day activities and file progression
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal), negotiate with stakeholders, manage conflicts, and build strong client relationships
  • Maintain a commitment to ongoing education and learning; utilize Claim Space software and Microsoft Office to support efficient claims processing

Salary range: $67,200.00 - $93,300.00 annually

 

 

We have an existing opening to add an experienced Liability / Casualty Adjuster to join our team! The successful candidate can work remotely or hybrid from anywhere in Canada.

Competencies:

The Independent Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner. The profile duties create a dynamic portfolio requiring extremely well-honed organizational skills that enable day to day activities to be completed while allowing efficient and effective progress of file management activities.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have background/experience in Casualty, Bodily Injury and Liability PD claims as well as the following competencies;

  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Onedrive)

  • Previous adjusting experience preferred

  • Advanced communication skills including:

  • Effective written skills including grammar and those of a technical nature

  • Effective oral skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, must be able to flex style appropriate to audience

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner.

  • Relationship Building skills

  • Demonstrated and proven leadership skills

  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness

  • Proactive and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict and difficult situations.

  • Strong commitment to ongoing education and learning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is nice to have.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience.

  • CIP designation or working towards designation.

  • Adjuster’s license or have completed a minimum of the first four CIP courses as follows:
    C11: Principles and Practice of Insurance
    C12: Insurance on Property
    C13: Insurance Against Liability—Part 1
    C14: Automobile Insurance—Part 1
    C110: Essentials of Loss Adjusting (Nice to have)

  • Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Ongoing commitment to education and learning.

  • Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause and effect dynamics

  • Good investigative manner

  • Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.

  • Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.

Competitive Compensation: $65K-$80K/annually CAD.
